Internship Opportunity: Used Furniture Review

Used Furniture Review, an online literary magazine founded in November 2010, is seeking an Editorial/Book Review Intern and a Music Intern for Summer 2012.

The Editorial Intern will not only write, but also solicit reviews of literature published by both independent and major presses. The Editorial Intern will facilitate outreach to publishers and authors, and have the opportunity to interview writers on behalf of the site. Candidates should have a broad interest in literature.

The Music Intern will not only solicit, but write features and reviews. The Music Intern will also solicit and conduct interviews with various musicians for use on the site. Candidates should have a broad interest in several genres.

Internship Opportunity at Catamaran Media

Catamaran Media is a publisher of weekly newspapers, which is distributed to approximately 13 towns throughout Atlantic and Cape May counties in southern New Jersey.

Their current intern is responsible for around four stories per week, re-writing news releases, and has been working on their Community Guide (a phone book-style publication specific to each town in the county.)

CAI would like someone to write the “History of CAI". The intern’s main focus would be on developing this piece. To do so, they will be interviewing various executives and associates in the company, collecting information and, finally, writing this treatise. Obviously, they will need excellent communication skills – both verbal and written – and be able to present themselves well. In addition, CAI may use them to help with various HR initiatives as time and need allow. CAI is seeking a candidate who can write a story, not necessarily a term paper, and an interest in creating a memoir like this.
