Hamburg Area Item Summer Internship

The Hamburg Area Item editor Brian Dowlin is searching for a Kutztown University Professional Writing intern with newspaper and layout experience this summer.

The intern would be writing and performing other duties, such as typing police reports, for the Kutztown Area Patriot and the Item.

KU Presents! Internship

KU Presents! is looking for a dynamic and innovative Professional Writing intern or Public Relations minor to join their program in bringing creative performances and speakers to Kutztown University. KU Presents! is responsible for the Ursa Minor Café series, the Performing Artists Series, and Children’s Series, as well as handling all other events and programs that occur in Schaeffer Auditorium. The fall season is jam-packed with exciting and diverse performers and with Schaeffer’s impending remodel scheduled to begin in 2012, help is needed!

Job responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with writing KU Presents! press releases, e-news drafts.
• Proofing all PR and advertising materials including brochures, print ads, and web content.
• Reviewing and assisting with writing radio, TV and web ads.
• Attending weekly production meetings.
• Contributing to the creative process of KU Presents! marketing and advertising materials, publicity stunts and target marketing promotions.
• Assisting with direct communication to student groups.
• Coordinating with University Relations on all communication matters

Reese Internship

Reese is looking for summer and fall interns for 2011. Our interns are normally here at least 20 hours per week for 12 to 15 weeks, and our internships are unpaid. As an intern, you will receive experience in all aspects of the agency, including Public Relations, Marketing, and Advertising.

Interns will work with various clients from non-profit organizations to manufacturing companies.

Jobs may include:
  • Writing, editing and proofing news and/or product releases
  • Writing, editing and proofing feature articles
  • Participating in interviews; and writing, editing and proofing case studies, for Reese capabilities and client success stories
  • Upkeeping media lists in database and online distribution system
  • Engaging media relations for updating lists, researching new publication opportunities, follow-ups on releases, and pitches
  • Monitoring PR/media clips and helping create quarterly ROI Reports for clients
  • Helping to monitor Reese’s social media accounts

Inside Higher Ed Summer 2011 Intern

Inside Higher Ed, a national daily publication with 750,000 unique monthly visitors, is seeking at least one intern to join its reporting staff this summer. Candidates should have at least two years of college journalism experience, ideally at a daily, and preferably some professional internship experience as well. Interns will be paid a monthly stipend.
