Please Touch Museum Media / Communications Internship

Please Touch Museum, the Children’s Museum of Philadelphia, is seeking a college student majoring in Communications, Public Relations or a related field who is eager to gain hands-on communications experience. A flexible schedule is available; however, candidates must be available 15-20 hours/week. This Internship is unpaid, but college credit may be granted.

Intern must exhibit strong organizational, communication, and project-management skills and have an interest in non-profit and/or the museum field. Intern will also be responsible for providing quality customer service. Position reports to the Director of Media Relations & the Communications Specialist and works closely with the entire External Relations Department. Some weekend and/or evening work may be necessary.

Responsibilities:
Assist in the management and implementation of programs for the External Relations Department; Assist in the development of online calendar presence;
Assist in Museum’s social media communications;
Assist in distribute press releases for target audiences;
Respond to media requests for information;
Research, implement and develops programs for Media Relation;
Manage various databases and information request fulfillment;
Provide additional administrative support; and
Others duties as assigned.
Experience using Cision or a comparable media database preferred but not required.
