Crime Alert Berks County is looking for innovative students who are Professional Writing majors or Public Relations minors interested in being a part of their organization.
Since this is a non-profit organization, this is a volunteer position. The student will be doing a number of duties including, but not limited to, the following:
• Writing press releases or articles for the organization
• Helping coordinate events such as their annual award ceremony, Stop Bullying poster contest, burger cookout fundraiser, and their Protected Playground program
• Managing the crime alert tip line
• Contacting the media
This is a terrific résumé builder and a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the public relations or writing field. Crime Alert Berks County is willing to work with students’ academic schedules and create a flexible work schedule.

Crime Alert Berks County is an organization of interested citizens, businesses, service organizations, corporations and social clubs, which formed to help our police departments in Berks County, Pennsylvania, to obtain credible leads that will result in arrests of criminals and solving crimes. This organization's inception was on August 1, 1998. Numerous crimes have been solved and arrests have been made as a result of tips e-mailed and phoned into the tip line.
